# Customers & Contacts

> Manage companies, their contacts, and what those contacts can see

Found under **Staff → Customers**.

## Multi-contact customers

A customer record represents a company, and can have any number of contacts attached to it — each with their own name, email, and phone. Any contact can be given login access to the [Client Portal](/crm/client-portal), where they'll see everything tied to their parent customer: invoices, projects, and support tickets.

## Creating and editing

Customer create/edit forms let you add or remove contacts inline, in the same form — there's no separate "add a contact" screen to navigate to. Saving replaces the full contact list with whatever's currently in the form, so removing a row on save genuinely removes that contact's access.

## Where customers show up elsewhere

A customer is the anchor point for most other data in the CRM:

* [Leads](/crm/leads-and-sales) convert into a customer
* [Invoices, estimates, and proposals](/crm/invoicing) belong to a customer
* [Projects](/crm/projects-and-tasks) are scoped to a customer
* [Support tickets](/crm/support-tickets) are opened by one of a customer's contacts
