# Demo Mode

> Running a locked-down public demo of your instance

If you want to run a public demo — for prospective customers to try before signing up — set:

```
DEMO_MODE=true
```

Then seed (or re-seed) the demo account:

```bash theme={null}
php artisan demo:reset
```

This command refuses to run unless `DEMO_MODE` is actually on, so it can't accidentally wipe a real production account's data.

<Warning>
  Leave `DEMO_MODE` unset (the default) for a real installation — the demo guard is otherwise inert.
