# Composing & Scheduling

> Compose posts, attach media, and schedule on a visual calendar

## Composer

**Posts → Create.** Write your post, attach media from the [media library](#media-library), and select which connected accounts to publish to — a single post can target more than one connected platform at once.

## Calendar

**Calendar.** A visual, drag-and-drop view of every scheduled post across your connected accounts.

## Media library

**Media.** Upload and reuse images/video across multiple posts instead of re-uploading per post.

## How publishing actually happens

Scheduled posts don't publish on a page load — they're picked up by the background queue pipeline (see [Installation → Background processes](/social/installation#background-processes)) at their scheduled time. This means the queue worker and cron entry both need to actually be running, or scheduled posts will just sit there past their scheduled time without publishing.

Each attempted delivery to a connected platform is recorded as a `PostTarget` — this is also the raw data [Analytics](/social/analytics) is built from.
